Snorkeling at Xpu Ha Palace

Tennis: Enjoy the tennis courts available for your use night and day.

Golf: Enjoy golfing at the Golf Club at Playacar and the Golf Club at Moon Palace, world-recognized courses. There are several courses around the region for one of the most picturesque golfing venues on earth!

Pools: A 6,725 square foot pool with daily activities by the pool. Volleyball in the end of the adult pool and a central swim-up bar.

Water Sports: Non-motorized water sports, including snorkeling and kayaking. Also receive a free introductory scuba diving lesson.

Beach: There is a beach within a 3 minutes walk of the Xpu Ha Palace with a long stretch of white sand and very gentle waves, giving excellent conditions for swimming, wading, soaking up sun while in the water.

Tours: There are guided tours through the snake, bird, and deer exhibits located toward the front of the hotel. Ask about free tours depending on the length of your stay! Experience ecological tours led by an ecologist guide offering day and evening tours; botanical workshops where you will see growth and cultivation of plants and herbs, identification of local plants; catamaran tours for sightseeing only or with snorkeling. There is also a jungle tour (a walking tour of the Botanical Gardens, nature trail and short snorkel). The mangrove tour is an aquatic tour guided in kayaks through the estuary.

Fishing: Plan a fishing trip to nearby Cozumel Island, which boasts some of the best fishing anywhere. Several fishing excursions are available, depending on what you are fishing for. Crews can filet and package your catch to take home. Excursions include fishing equipment, tackle, bait, snacks, refreshments, and pick up and drop off.

Fitness Center: There is a gym club, fully equipped with running machines, free weights, sauna, and more.

Kids Programs: There is a children’s mini-club for children 4 to 12 years old and there is also babysitting service for an additional charge. Children under 3 stay, play, and eat free. Organized activities at the club so the little ones have as much fun as you do!

Exploration and Sightseeing: There are several Mayan ruins and exploration opportunities in the region. Sightseeing venues offer vacationers several options: Xcaret with its underground rivers, diving, snorkeling, and coral reefs; the natural aquariums at Xel-Ha; the ancient Mayan port of Tulum containing many curious buildings; the villages and cities of Puerto Morelos, San Miguel, Playa del Carmen, and Cancun. Bicycles can be rented in some of these areas.

Diving and Snorkeling: The nearby coastal waters of Cozumel have remarkable clarity, and the waters are alive with colorful coral and many species of marine life. Dive masters allow you and other divers to choose your reef, depending on your experience level. Novices will enjoy Paradise Reef for the many shallow patch reefs, large brain coral, sea fans and sponges. Intermediate divers may try Palancar Caves or Columbia Wall and encounter big grouper, playful green moray eels, eagle rays and turtles. For the very experienced, Maracaibo Deep and Barracuda Reef are as alluring as they are challenging, where giant orange elephant ear sponges, black coral, large schools of fish, turtles, rays, and even hammerhead sharks may be spotted. Excellent snorkeling is available in many locations, even very close to the hotel itself.

Entertainment: Daily activities by the pool and nightly shows at the theater with theme parties.

Other Activities: Relax with a game of chess, backgammon, or checkers! Also, there are many bicycles to choose from…grab a bike and set out on an exhilarating ride through the area.
